The nose is
as crisp, pungent, and in your face with gooseberries, passion fruit
and bright citrus as any good piece of cinema veritÈ.
The palate is
more of the lemon citrus and (here's a surprise twist in the plot)
a ton of peach, and not the canned stuff, either. This is right-off-the-tree-in-a-Georgia-orchard
peach.
Maybe best of
all is the finish (aftertaste), which is nice and long and has enough
grass to fashion a hula skirt.
Different, powerful
and pretty unforgettable. If you're going to be bold and rent (or
"put in your queue," as the kids say) a funky foreign
film, this is the bold, different wine to have with it. The new:new
ratio will work for you. If you're a fan of†New Zealand sauvignon
blanc†and drink it regularly already, then you're probably
also a fan of weird foreign cinema, so this is still the wine to
have.
Cheers,
TSW
* - If you get
it on DVD, make sure you go to the Extras and watch "The Perfect
Human." If you rent “The Five Obstructions” on
VHS, you might want to think about unhitching your horse from outside
your mud hut and going down to Best Buy for a DVD player.
