Then the lights
dim, and the spotlights shine upon the Brothers and the bear. It's
all so bright: acidic lemon-lime flavors, with just a touch of pineapple
and more from the oaky bear. This part of the show isn't incredibly
complex, but it's done with a lot of taste.
Closing the
show is a bit of the pear flavor, along with the bear that comes
back for one last, medium-length walk across the wire.
While it may
not be the greatest show on earth, this is a wonderful performance
that, when all is said and done, achieves its goal. This is an affordable,
quality Russian River chardonnay. It may not be the powerhouse,
over-the-top event that their '99 show was, but it makes up for
it by being a more graceful, elegant act.
As the WoWmazing
Circus forever aims to do, we think we've offered a show that runs
circles around other three-ring performances with equal or slightly
higher prices of admission. Is it Cirque du Soliel? No. But this
ain't no Circus Vargas, either!
Cheers,
TSW

Ladies and gentleman,
Wilder on Wine's WoWmazing Circus is proud to present the Fantastic
Flying Frei Brothers!
High atop the
WoWmazing big top, gaze your eyes upon the daredevils as they plan
to do the near-impossible: create a Russian River Valley chardonnay
and sell it at a REASONABLE PRICE! (Ooooh! Ahhhhh!)
Children in
the audience: Please do not try this at home.
Their routine
begins with the color of pale, golden hay that has more than a bit
of green to it.
It then leaps
into a yeasty-scented nose of sweet pear, death-defying green apple
and a light mineral quality. And, like a big, heavy bear walking
the high wire, it's oak! Wood is a big part of this performance,
but it still shows good balance, and isn't a complete show-stealer
(though a lot of people do like bears).
