He's got smoky,
slightly gamy blackberries and blueberries on the nose, along with
a light, almost white chocolate scent.
The palate is
a bit closed up this early on, but he is a rookie, after all. I
know he was signed in '01, but he spent 12 months sitting on the
American oak bench. Still he's got loads of black cherry, dark berry,
a little spice and plenty of vanilla and oak. Licorice comes through
big time in his end-game (finish).
The mouthfeel
is polished and soft, but I think Montes will be an even better
player in a year.
Imagine, you
thought your team had signed on cheap muscle, when you actually
got a player with some finesse, too.
Just hope that
smart coach signed Montes to a multi-year contract. His price is
going to steadily go up if he keeps performing at this level.
Go Team,

This huge red
is like a first-year lineman that your favorite football team picked
up late in the draft. He barely fits into his uniform, and the assumption
is that he'll be fine at keeping the bad guys away from your quarterback,
but you wouldn't want him representing the team in a post-game interview
or babysitting your kids. He's expected to be
well
a
little simple.
But hey, you're
willing to accept that, right? After all, the coach snagged this
rookie out of the Chilean Football League (not to be confused with
the Chilean Fútbol League) and paid next to nothing for him.
Smart coach.
It turns out
that Montes is more complex than people would assume, considering
his salary and youth.
